Run report: Always a first for some!

With an overcast sky and cool 23 to 24 deg C, the 16 runners for the second PMC run were in good spirits.

7 new members joined the run, among them were Nicholas and Samuel, who were waiting for enlistment into National Service. Gabriel opened with a short prayer. The devotion was on Psalm 8:3,4 and 9 (see earlier post) and Edwin briefed the group on the route. The run took us into Pasir Ris Park, which was shady and refreshing.

As far as I could tell, everyone was upbeat and there was a spring in everyone's steps. The pace was conversational and easy. Runners chatted with each other along the way, and it was certainly a pleasant and agreeable run. Along the way, Edwin showed us the various permutations that we could take in future - some longer and more challenging routes for the experienced runners and other interesting but shorter routes.

As we turned into Drive 6, a number of runners were surprised that we were back at church! That meant that they could have gone on for another km or so. :)

We were in for another surprise. As we arrived at PMC, a group of cheerers were there to congratulate us! These were the prayer warriors who had just finished their session. It felt great to receive such a welcome.

Credos to our runners who did their first 5 km ever: Esther, Dawn, Amy, and not forgetting Peng Kiat (although he had completed a marathon many years back!).

It was a good run.
